Question:

Why won't we consume alcohol in stainless steel glass?

Why people prefere to consume alcohol in glass mugs? if we consume in stainless steel glass is that dangoures to health? or Any chemical reaction will take place?

Answers:
There are no problems at all in using stainless steel vessels for drinking alcohol.

They are just too expensive to make compared to using glass.

Hell I use Pewter tankards a lot of the time when drinking alcohol, and even modern pewter mixtures contain lead which is a poison.

But the lead stays in the tankard, it does not react with the alcohol

might be because we carnt see whats in our drink

Glass is infinitely cheaper, even with breakage!

There IS a chemical reaction with alcohol and styrofoam though, so don't mix your drinks in styrofoam

Alcohol reacts with the metal and it can result in poisoning.

Because if it was stainless steel, it would be a beaker, not a glass .....

My friends and I drink out of stainless steel beakers all the time; when you get trousered and drop them, they don't break ! :~)

Any food item should be appealing to your eyes and your nose. Both has tremendous effect on the taste and satisfaction of the taker. It has been shown experimentally that if your nose and eyes are closed it is very difficult to differentiate between potato and a piece of halwa. That is why all the chefs appearing on the TV keeps reminding you of how to decorate the food. I do not know about any adverse affects in using steel vessels for alcohol but it surely lacks the appeal.

its not dangerous at all, when we would like to hide & drink or are in places where steel is easily available, u will find people using them instead of glass mugs. but its a fact that one uses glasses to be able to see their drinks also it definitely looks more attractive in them.

It takes away from the flavor!

we can have alcohol in ss glasses no problem in that

but the story of glass is that in pilsen in czeckaslovakia glass industry florished at the same time the pilsner beer(a beer variety) was introduced, people can see the beer clearly in glass then in a wodden mug(used before the use of glass)

no its not dangerous to use stainless steel to drink from especially considering that most spirits are actually fermented in stainless steel . its just expensive and makes it hard to see what you are actually drinking. Glass is also a great insulator, keeping thing hot or cold longer
