How much Champagne?!

Question:

How much Champagne?

How do I calculate the number of bottles I'll need for a toast.
(about 100 guests) ?

Answers:
roughly one bottle will serve around 6 glasses in a champagne flute so it will be about 16 bottles

I think you get around 4 glasses per bottle

When you pour a toast, the glass is normally not full all of the way, so I agree with Raaj!

The rule of thumb, when pouring for a toast in a restaurant, is that one bottle of Champagne will serve 7 glasses (100ml per person). In order to take into account that pouring may not always be accurate, it is best to provision for only 6 glasses per bottle to allow for mistakes, overpouring and spillage. Therefore, if you are expecting 100 guests, you should order 17 bottles. For a private function, I would always suggest you round up your order to the nearest case.

As Champagne comes in cases of six and is always cheaper to buy by the case, speak to your wine merchant and simply order 3 cases (18 bottles). You then also have a spare bottle (to do with as you please!) in case of "emergencies."

6 glasses per bottle with a little extra for tp ups. So get 20 bottles.

For a toast you'll get about 6 to 7 glasses out of a bottle.

most champagne flutes are 125ml i think so youd get 6 glasses per bottle, so 16 and a half bottles. someone else said round it up to 18, i agree with them, gives you some spare just in case. if you go to your local wine shop theyll probably do glass hire too and sale or return so if money is short can take back any leftovers. if the reception providing the glasses just check what size they are and calculate by dividing into 750ml and order champagne accordingly.

most champagnes are 12 to a case not 6. 2 cases should do it especially considering that its just for a toast ,which is not a full pour. plus you can take the left overs home for another day
