What are some good fruity wines?!
Answers: Okay...I'm only 20 and I don't drink anyway haha but I've had wine before (New Years Eve-kind of thing) and I'm curious for when I turn 21 next year...so anyone have any suggestions?
Sangria! It's a mix of wine, fruit and brandy. There are lots of good recipes using both white and red wines. Try this book: Sangria, fun and festive recipes by mittie hellmich. My fav is the classic spanish sangria.
You can always go arbormist- it's a line of yummy flavors infused with fruit.
Try Arbor Mist, they have a variety of fruit flavors.
White Zinfandels are sweet (the pink) beringer, sutter home..
riesling are also sweet, thats white wine...kendal jackson, chateau st michelle..
reds are more full and robust....if u like reds start with a pinot noir...those are smooth and fruity...
sangrias are always a great choice! =D
Get some friends and go to a sams or like a wine store, like total wine, and get everyone to pitch in and buy a couple bottles and try...thats what me and friends did...(i also work at an italian restaurant)...
Bartlett of Maine probably produces the top fruit wines in the country. Unlike the sweet dessert styles made by most fruit wine producers, Bartletts Blueberry cuvée is dry and aged up to 18 months in 100-percent new French oak. Deep and exotic, with an extraordinary fragrance and a supple structure, this wine has proven to be one of the nations great wine secrets, year after year. GOOD STUFF!
Everyone has their own taste, and to me arbor mist is just a $3.00 bottle of fruit juice (not to knock anyones opinion).
I am a wine drinker and I love sweet, fruity wines, and my favorites are Riesling, such as Relax, Polka Dot, and Chateau St Michelle and these brands usually cost between $8-12. I also love Moscato De Asti, which is considered a dessert wine and usually costs at least $12. Some people mistakenly think that all Rieslings are sweet, but there are many dry Rieslings, so watch out for that. You can get White Zinfandel relatively cheap, $5-8 a bottle, but it is not a personal favorite of mine, I only drink it at weddings and it is the only sweeter wine avilable at the bar.
I personally like the white zhinfandel wine. It's not too strong, it's the perfect "sweet/stiff" combination.
Check it out! :)
Your best bet for fruity (non-dry) wines are going to be Petite Syrah and Malbec (IMO of course).
The great thing about Malbec is that not only is it very fruity and full-bodied, it is also EXTREMELY cheap. I was a die-hard merlot drinker, and would usually spend around $20 per bottle.
The most expensive Malbec I've ever seen was $8! lol And I like the taste SO much more than Merlot.
Beringer Estate pinot noir and Yellow Tail pinot noir red wines.
