There are some 20 million acres of grapes planted across the world; grapes are ranked as the worlds number 1 fruit crop thanks to this number. There are some 10000 varieties of wine grapes which are grown across the world. It takes some 4 years before a newly planted grape vine will be ready to be harvested and the grapes made into wine.

A mix of white and red wine is sometimes called a rosé. In fact, it isn't. Just as red wines get their color from the grape skins, rosé wines are carefully produced by removing the skins just before the liquid is a deep red. The taste is always light, but most have overtones closer to reds...

The ideal temperature for serving wine depends on the wine; white wines should be served chilled, a few hours in the refrigerator will suffice. Red wines should be served at just slightly cooler than room temperature, younger fruity reds will be a bit better if a little bit cooler. Sparkling Wines should be thoroughly chilled best to leave them in the refrigerator overnight before serving, and finally dessert Wines should be served at room temperature. Chilling tones down the sweetness of wine, if a red wine becomes too warm, it may lose some of its fruity flavor.

Too many questions!

I suggest you enrol at wine school.

You need a course.

I started writing some stuff for you but realise than even few basics would take me hours. I suggest that you go on different sites to get your education and try different sorts to see which kind you might like or dislike.
Good luck.

Lots of questions here. There is a million different bottles and more out there.

Maybe if you have a good quality local store that stocks good wine perhaps it might be best to ask their advice.

I know a "tiny" bit about wine. Although I am (unfortunately) not educated enough to advise.

Good luck with your quest and I hope you get the advise you are searching for.........x.

The most fashionable wine to drink at the moment is Rose, I have been drinking it for years!! The best one is White Zinfandel (don't be fooled by the name, it is actually rose!).
Rose should be chilled.
Cabernet Sauvignon is the name of the grape used to make the wine, as suggested, you might want to take a wine course to really appreciate the differences.
Most wines these days come with plastic corks or screw tops reducing the possibility of the wine becoming corked.

The easiest way to learn is to start drinking the stuff. It will come all so naturally then. Bottoms up, cheers.

White Zinfandel.........a rose that is so easy to drink. Try that first.
