What's the best lager in the UK?!
What's the best lager in the UK?
I always go for kronnenburg but don't know what to look out for - and for what type of situation eg what lagers are best when really thirsty, when really hot weather, during cold daytime/nightime, whether anyone actually knows if there is a big difference between lagers.
Answers:
Carlsberg Export. only the export mind you, and only if your ready to get drunk, great for sunny days, BBQ's, etc. I can't believe no one else has mentioned it! After a few it even becomes a bit of a riddle...Carlsberg Escort... Pls don't pick a best answer till you've tried it, cause it's the best, and I need the points!!!

Stella but if your buying i'll drink any!!!!!!!
Most definitely Grolsch
cant get sweeter than a pint of wife beater
I personally like Stella Artois.. I find Carling and McEwans watery.. they're all a lot better very very cold. If it's a hot hot day and/or people are already 'well-served' anything cold will do. If you want to impress go for Kronenburg, Stella, Carlsberg, I like the little French bottles the big supermarkets all do now by the crate of 12 -24. Cheap, but taste nice !
it's all down to personal taste though really !
There's no such thing as good lager in the UK. They all taste more or less the same (of carbon dioxide and chemicals). They are all brewed from cheap rubbish, none of them are matured properly and all are overpriced. British 'lager' is a con, and you are a mug if you drink it.
If you have ever tasted proper lager beer in Germany you would know what I'm talking about. There they have a law to protect their drinkers from inferior rubbish.
Drink cask-conditioned real ale in Britain. That's one beer we do brew properly.
Lagers brewed under license in the uk are inferior copies of the originals, it is best to drink an import. The best are Amstel, Budvar and Bitburger.
