Best alcoholic beverages for someone who is dieting?!
Answers: I am dieting but still like to go out drinking every week. What are the best drinks to order that are a little lower in calories so I don't completely sabbotage my diet?
I don't know if it's the best, buy I'm dieting and I drink diet soda and vodka, or diet soda and bacardi.
red wine i think but nothing is way better, thats why i can't diet, i love drinking. your better to just drink water.
wine spritzer...
The calories in a drink come from 3 sources:
1. The alcohol itself
2. The other ingredients in the drink. Wine and beer have more than just alcohol (although they have less alcohol ounce-per-ounce)
3. The mixer, if you don't drink it straight.
If you are on a diet, you can cut down on the calories by cutting down on the amount you drink and how you drink. Cutting the amount cuts the calories from alcohol. And using low-calorie mixers saves calories as well.
So, stay away from fancy drinks mixed with fruit juice, grenadine, sugar, etc. By keeping it simple, you have some idea of how much "stuff" you are consuming. If you want a mixed drink, try something like rum and DIET coke (you won't taste the difference). By the way, remember that most tonic water contains about the same calories as Coke, so be careful if you like gin and tonic.
If you drink beer, drink light beer (I think Michelob light is really good, for example).
One way to drink wine is to have a wine spritzer, which is wine (usually white) mixed with club soda. That will let you sip for a while and spread out the drinks you have over the evening. I used to know a woman who would tell the bartender to give her a wine spritzer, but to put only half the usual amount in. Then, when she went back for a refill, he wouldn't charge her for the second drink. And of course it saved a lot of calories too. Clever, eh?
Good luck!!
I make margaritas with crystal light lemonade and also use crystal light berry with vodka.
drink a skinny *****-it's diet cola and vodka
Wine, obviously, is the absolute best. And light beer is okay if you limit yourself.
Whatever you do stay away from mix drinks as they pack on sometimes 300 + calories per drink.
Also, liquor is generally calorie-filled as well.
A lot of diets don't allow alcohol at all because it actually slows your metabolism temporarily. But who can really commit to that? lol.
Champagne is very low in calories as long as its not Spumante. Spumante is very sweet and high in calories.
It is all I drink. After about 3-4 glasses, you will be very buzzed.
Any light beer will do the trick. I heard that rum and diet coke is low in calories.
all alcohol is fatning even wine
