Does Cristal Champagne increase in value over time?!

Question:

Does Cristal Champagne increase in value over time?

I have an unopened 1990 bottle of Louis Roederer Cristal Champange and was wondering if it increases in value like a bottle of wine? Does the flavor get better with time as well? Also, do you know of a good, accurate internet site where I can find the value of this bottle?

Answers:
This bottle would probably sell for around $400-500 now in a retail store. Cristal doesn't really appreciate that much, mainly because most people drink it young. It's done in a fairly delicate style that doesn't really lend itself to very long term aging. That being said, the 1990 is a great vintage and as long as it was stored well in a cold, dark place, it should be drinking nicely right now. But it's most likely not going to get any better or more valuable at this point. wine-searcher.com will show you what stores are selling it for.
