Filling out a form for an interview about my weekly alcohol consumption?!

Question: I have an interview on Tuesday, and I have some forms that I need to fill out before I go.

One of them, asks for my weekly alcohol consumption in units.

Overall, I have around 2/3 bottles of wine, and maybe some alcopops, which may sound a lot, but over the course of 7 days, but in comparison to many others, it's really not. It never interferes with my work or my personal life, so please don't tell me I have a problem.

I don't want to lie, as I know they will probably expect me to consume some amount of alcohol - at the age of 23, but how much is too much?

How many units would you say was acceptable over the course of a week?

just write that you have wine,1 bottle a week.that is acceptable.anything else is none of their business.

say around 20-25 units a week, that's like 3 bottles of wine & a few alcho pops

recommened intake is 14units of alcohol per week for woman

As long as you dont have a problem then lie and tell them 2 bottles of wine, that allows for a little more then a glass in the evening with dinner which is acceptable

It's far less tan a man as a women's liver is approx half as strong as a males liver. I think it is around (Don't quote me on this) 12 units a week, a unit being glass of wine, half a beer or a single shot of spirit. Employers are getting tough on consumption as so many working days are lost from overindulgence! Pu into your search engine for alcohol limits that should help. Good Luck with your job interview.

2/3 bottle of wine is only about 4 glasses. Average in maybe 2 alcopops a week, and you should say you drink 6 units a week. That is not bad at all, and nothing you should worry about. If they ask you about it in the interview, explain that you have a glass of wine with dinner every other night (saying "2/3 a bottle" sounds like a lot more) and maybe a mixed drink every now and then.

I will agree with the answerer above and discourage drinking in the middle of the week. A glass of wine is okay, but much more than that could effect your performance at work the next morning. Keep it where you are and you'll be fine.

Good luck with your interview! :)

I'm a recovered alcoholic, I spent 3 months in re-hab and have 15 months sobriety in AA.

The only reason I say that is that I now know an awful lot about alcohol.

The recommended number of units per week are 14 for women and 21 for men.

I am certainly no kill-joy and have no problem whatsoever in people enjoying themseves sensibly.

There is a very simple alcohol units calculator in this link and it will tell you exactly what you want to know, and the number of units you need to tell them.

Depending on the strength of your wine, and the quantity of your alcopops, I would say you were within the limit, but I will leave you to judge, and your conscience as to what you declare.

Best of luck with your job.

Read "Jon's" reply. I congratulate him. He must have the B@lls of a bull to be so UP-FRONT.

I think your OK. But what the company doesn't know. Won't hurt them.

THE VERY BEST OF LUCK TO YOU......xxxxxxxxxx

The safe limits of alcohol per week according to the WHO (world health organisation) are 14 units for a female and 21 units per week for a male, but they also say that women shouldn't drink more than 2-3 units in any one sitting and men any more than 3-4, also you shouldn't drink on consecutive days. Drinking more than these limits is considered "binge" drinking.

I'd just be slightly economical with the truth.

Unless it is for medical insurance, lie and say between 10 & 15 units weekly.
