Can unfreezing scotch spoil it?!

Question: Let me explain better. A friend gave me a bottle of scotch for my birthday, and told me he kept it in his freezer. Normally I don't do that with scotch, but since it was already cold, out of paranoia I put it in my freezer at that time. It's not frozen. But if I take it out and let it warm back to room temperature, will it spoil, lose character/taste, or just go bad?
I really don't know much about this sort of thing, and base this entire paranoia off of other things spoiling once they're changed from frozen to room temperature. Thanks in advance!

Read carefully, scotch expert speaking. Depending on the type of scotch you have, here's what you need to do. If it's a blended scotch (Johnny Walker, Chivas, Cutty Sark, etc.), just remove it from the freezer and store as you want it. If it's a single malt (Glenfiddich, McCallan, Oban, etc.) You have to gradually bring it back to room temp. Remove it from the freezer, and put it in your fridge. After 36 hours in there, move it to the coldest room in your house for another 36 hours. After that, you should be fine to store wherever. Single malts, especially expensive ones, are sensitive. The bottle will tell you if it's single malt or blended at the bottom of the label.

Hard liquor like scotch, vodka, rum and stuff like that won't freeze. It'll just get really cold.

The only thing that freezes is the water, as your freezer can't get cold enough to solidify the alcohol. As such, slowly thaw the scotch, swirling often to ensure even distribution of the reinstated elements.

Water can often be added to a glass of scotch, in small amounts, to bring out the bouquet or deepen the flavors present. Hopefully a similar effect will pass along in the bottle in question.

Best of luck!

it wont harm the scotch if you pull it out of the freezer because it never freezes there's no water in to dilute it it will be good.

No harm will come to it, Actually it will taste really nice and easy to drink straight from the freezer. Try it.
