If I go out and buy a BOX of wine today, will I survive?
Can you get potable wine in a box? Or is it really that bad? I want to enjoy a little wine every day, but I can't afford to.
What's the cheapest wine that is not awful?

All are 3 Liters (four bottles of wine) and have advantages:
Never Corked
Stay fresh for days even weeks because they do not get exposed to air.
Fit in fridge and ease of serving.
None of them are standouts and it is unlikely the better wines will ever go to this package but most of them are are good as average bottled wine with cost and other advantages.
Whatever you do, don't go with the Franz.
Unless you want to have a migraine that lasts a week.
Boxed wine is sick and horrible- almost as bad as SKOL!
EDIT: are you guys serious, saying boxed wine is oK? we must not be drinking the same thing, because I'm not a snob: I've been drinking Milwaukee's Best beer and Skol and Fleishmann's for a while, and boxed wine tastes like garbage and makes me feel like garbage 10 times more than any of those drinks, lol
A box of wine is great. Get Franzia.
except for the snobs, most people find the box wines acceptable.
For you purpose, it is perfect. less $$, and styays fresh for drinking a little daily.

Yes, there are some OK boxed wines. They often serve wine in a box at Mensa gatherings, and if it isn't wonderful, it is at least acceptable for a party. Can't think of any specific brands though.

it is not going to hurt you, it is just going to be made so far down the middle, and to me mostly sweet, that most people, even though they say they do not, enjoy it

You'll be more likely to get sick on ANY kind of cheap wine or just take your chances like anyone else.
Box wine is "okay". Franzia white table wine is pretty good. 17$ a box.
