Question:

How long is a bottle of Jack Daniels good for?Does it go bad?

Answers:
My dad has been saving a case of Seagrams Benchmark for over 20 years. He made a pact with a very good friend of his years ago, which ever one survives the other, would open a bottle of Benchmark and drink it at the wake. My dad's friend went first, and it was fantastic!

Remember to seal the top in wax to prevent evaporation.

I would say that it is good forever. Alcohol doesn't go bad.

no

You left out some important information, like whether the bottle has ever been opened, and how it's been stored.

If the bottle hasn't been opened, and it has been stored at a fairly constant temperature, ANY distilled spirit should last (technically) forever. You can tell by observing the contents: if the bottle is still full, it means that little or no evaporation has occurred, which indicates an intact seal. Also, there shouldn't be sediment of any kind; in a liquor, that would indicate the presence of bacteria (if it were a bottle of wine, however, some sediment would be normal).

Remember, archaeologists find bottles of still-drinkable wine in Egyptian tombs! So it your bottle of Jack appears OK, then it is OK.

It would never go bad!!! The only Alcohol that I know of that would go bad is something like Bailey's or Kahlua. Other then that...Any type of Bourbon, Scotch, Whiskey, Wine, Cognac, Vodka, and Rum ( I know there is 2 or 3 I missed, lol) will never go bad. Wine though you wanna keep around 60 to 65 degree's though and out of the sun. Other then that...Your Golden!!

Hope that helps!

Forever. Does not go back UNLESS it is exposed to extreme heat off and on for years. Then it will evaporate.

it never goes bad

an unopened bottle of liquor will not go bad. but if it has been opened if should be fine for years. as long as has not been contaminated by drinking directly from the bottle. i have never heard of jack going bad . it is not like wine or beer.
and if you did let it go bad shame on you that is alcohol abuse. if it has a bad taste don't drink.

Good until the last drop!

No it won't go bad. Bacteria and mold are what makes things go bad and alcohol will kill all that. So any purely alcoholic liquor will be fine forever. It's the sugary stuff, like mixers or grenadine, etc. that you have to worry about.

First of all, a bottle of JD shouldn't be around long enough to have to ask said question.

But sometimes, you misplace it. The booze will last forever as long as there is a minimum of oxygen and sunlight that directly effect the liquid. In other words, tighten the cap and stick in a closet and you'll be good to go.

If you don't do this, the alcohol can break down over time creating vinegar, and the mixed drink "JD and vinegar" doesn't exist for a reason.

But liquor isn't like wine, and it won't get any better over time. Liquors that are aged longer by the distillery are better, but not when it is bottled.

not in my house .my problum is keeping it around .

i dunno, i've never had an un-opened bottle of J.D. around long enough.... but if you ever observe whiskey that appears cloudy, toss it! also remember that that your nose never lies, so smell it first.

As long as it is in the bottle, and not in a glass...then you can keep it indefinately. It will probably last longer than you will.

If you don't drink it all within 12 hours of opening it it will go bad!
