1 pint vodka
2 tsp crumbled wormwood
2 tsp crumbled anise seeds
1/2 tsp fennel seeds
4 cardamom pods
1/2 tsp ground coriander
2 tsp chopped angelica root
Steep wormwood in vodka for 48 hours. Remove, add the rest and steep for one week. Age.
There's several "DIY" absinthe kits that I've seen online. They're basically just a bag of dry herbs that you add to a bottle of everclear. Try searching for absinthe kits on google.

I had to give up The Green Fairy, because the more times I drank it, my headaches were progressivly worse the next day and lasted longer.
Man why would you want to? Okay curiosities sake but really. Read every blog you see about DIY absinthe. they are all the same. Ill, Sick, Puke. Cant you buy it in shops in the USA yet?
If you can get your hands on a reall high % absinthe 80-90.
Get an absinthe pipe. Kind of like an elongated opium pipe. Glass. with a small bowl at the end. Fill with crushed ice. If the ABV is high enough it vaporises as you suck it through and up the ice.
But im afraid that gone are the days of real wormwood and laudunum highs. Cough syrup, Ginger ale and a bag of weed will do just the trick.
