I don't like to do shots...?!

Question:

I don't like to do shots...?

I'm constantly harassed and called names..tell me i'm not the only one who thinks trying to put copious amounts of alcohol in your body as fast as possible isn't a little juvenile?

Answers:
Just tell your friends that you're not interested in doing shots and that they need to deal with it.

I don't want to do shots, either, and sometimes I don't even drink at all.

Here's a trick: tell the bartender that you don't want any more alcohol and ask them to give you shots of water and to keep it quiet. Your friends will think you're doing shots of white rum or vodka. I've done that just to participate in the ritual.

Best way to go is to be mature and drink what you want when you want and not let anyone coerce you into something else.

i agree with you. Who cares what they say? They're the ones who are damaging their insides with all that alcohol.

It is juvenile but that's the point. It's not an every day thing but on special occasions it wouldn't hurt to do a birthday shot or whatever.

If you don't like to do shots then don't do them. It really doesn't get any simpler.

Devon,

No...you're not the only one.

You should drink what you enjoy drinking...perhaps you should look at making new friends. It doesn't seem like the folks you drink with care much about you.

Oh, come on! Who in the right mind would want to pay to damage their own body?!
That's my opinion, anyway. No offence.

Devon, remember Nancy Regan - she said "Just say No!", it is as simple as that.

I just means you have more class than your friends.

ditto i just turned 18 and apparently it's expected of me

Um, that is very juvenile of them. I can't do shots either. People keep trying to say "C'mon, just one!". Or they just buy me one and I take a teeny sip. They laugh, and I look at them and say "I told you I don't do shots!" Then they act all offended. Well, their loss of money for trying to force me to do something I don't want to do!

It probably is juvenile, but I personally enjoy shots of vodka much more than mixed drinks because they can have soooooo many calories. However, I know they can be hard to get used to at first. It's not "juvenile;" it just means you have different tastes or inexperienced. Being experienced isn't always a good thing.

j/k bro im not a shot person either and im also not the one puking my guts out in the morning

I would love to take shots but I gag when I take shots, which would probably get me made fun of even more if I was throwing up from 1 shot.

shots, that is straight alcohol, have very little if any redeeming value.

Think about it, they taste so bad that you are downing them as fast as possible so as not to taste them.

Their only purpose is to get you drunk fast. Personally I thin it is find if you want to get drunk, but you might as well enjoy it and not be in such a hurry. Sometimes getting drunk is a lot more fun that being drunk. Slow down, drink something you enjoy and have a good time

I feel that shots are what people who like to be drunk but don't like to drink do... You take a shot so fast that you don't taste what you are swallowing. If your goal is to get drunk that is great. I used to. But then I grew up. I stopped drinking just to get drunk and started drinking things that I enjoy. And I realized that I don't like liqueur. It all taste bad to me. There are people who like it, good for them, but that doesn't mean I have to pretend to like it. I also used to drink cheap beer just to get drunk. I now have grown out of that as well and only drink beers that I like because I actually like them. Sorry bud light... Oh yeah, you know how that one friend of yours buys a round of shots and harasses you until you drink it? I got that stopped to by taking it and pouring out while he talked trash. I don't like throwing up...
