What is a "well drink"?!
Answers: I was at a mexican restaurant and saw " $2 well drinks" written on the chalk board. Thanks
"well drink" means its the bars standard alcohol line up,(vodka, gin, scotch, wiskey, tequila) usually the cheap stuff, the bottles sit in a "well", so when you order a "vodka 7" you get the "well" verision of it. if you "call"(request) a specific brand of vodka, like "greygoose" then you are ordering a "top shelf" drink.-BluRey
A well drink is a standard bar drink like rum and coke.
It is bar brand drinks............usually nasty
Drink good for 2 -3 then you don't notice
Mexican Soft Drink
Refresco is often used for carbonated drinks of most types, however more often in signs and menus. Bebidas, lit. "drinks" is also used in menus, but can refer to alcoholic drinks as well. In speech a more specific word is generally used, such as coca or té, however agua, lit. "water" can also be used to refer to any non alcoholic, usually cold, drink.
"Well" drinks are made from the cheap house liquors on hand. i.e. If you ask for a gin and tonic you will get whatever cheap gin they serve as opposed to a Tanqurey(sp) and tonic
It means they make the drinks with the 'cheap stuff' rather than the expensive kinds.
It is the lowest-priced selection of drinks at a bar.
Some examples at a mexican restaurant would be:
1. a margarita made with the cheapest tequila they have.
2. A mojito made with the cheapest grade of rum they have.
it's the least expensive form of a drink.
if you want a bourbon and coke it would be $2.
if you asked for jack and coke, jack Daniels that's a
"call" drink cause your requesting a certain kind of liquor.
it goes from Well", "Call", "Premium", "Super Premium", .
the well is usually kept down low in the drink making area
the others are sometimes placed on the shelf with the higher the place on the shelf the more expensive.
why you might hear the phrase "top shelf"
The low grade booze is used for the drinks.
At a Mexican place this most likely means el Toro in the Margaritas.
A well drink is just a "house version" of any liquor. Like well rum would be the NOT name brand cheaper rum. Well drinks are always cheaper and never top shelf
a well drink is any drink that is 2 parts. one part alcohol and one part mixer.
Brands of alcohol you have never heard of or seen before.
Ron Virgin rum for example. Who buys that?
