Question:

How old can a canned beer be before it "spoils" and is no longer ok to consume??

Answers:
About ninety to a hundred and twenty days. In fact business's that sale beer remove cans that are ninety days old. Canned beer and even bottled beer begins to break down and lose its taste and composition. It tastes like it is turning to vinegar, which it is starting to do.

Generally you should try to consume it within 6 months.

my brother just drank 3, four year old beers last night and hes still alive, so at least that long. (though he did say it tasted a bit "nutty")

As long as the can is intact, the beer won't spoil, just get a little flat and not taste as good.

I wish I could answer this, but generally I don't let beer set long enough to go past the born on date, however, if it was in the fridge, I would drink it, or you can give it to your friend who likes to drink your last beer....GOOD LUCK!!!

Another beer drinker from Wisconsin.

Who leaves beer hanging around long enough to have this problem.........
