Why does being intoxicated make you hiccup?!

Question:

Why does being intoxicated make you hiccup?

Answers:
When you hiccup, your diaphragm and nearby muscles convulse, causing you to briefly gulp air. Hiccups from drinking Alcohol is usually caused because of the softdrink that is oftern used to mix drinks. These cabonated drinks cause distention of the stomach.

So because when we're drunk we've usually had quite a bit of carbonated distention happening which can cause uncontrolable hiccuping. Funny to watch, but not no funny for the hiccuper ;)
