You need to check out a Bartenders Guide (bought at any book store) as it will give you all kinds of mixtures....it is not so much the mixtures but the knowledge and smarts to know when to say when ....enough is enough....Alcohol poisoning is just that........ toooooo much alcohol, and the system can not get rid of it fast enough....hence... poisoning. For right now good rule of thumb is to keep the whites and darks separate.... white rums, white vodkas.....A long Island Ice Tea is usually all of the white liquors, but I find too much of the white gins change the taste dramatically, also the white Tequilas will distort the taste.

i have been mixing random alcohols together for years, and i'm pretty darn sure that it isn't like mixing detergent and chlorine. nothing bad will happen, except you hangover might be a little worse if you add some 151 when not called for!

the only thing i would be cautious about is mixing vodka with energy drinks, if you're not a seasoned drinker...
there's the possibility of a heartattack with that one.

don't mix

Fact No. 1: ALL alcohol is poison. Ethanol, or grain alcohol, just happens to be less toxic than any of the others.

Beyond that, all alcoholic beverages sold contain the same kind of alcohol, ethanol. Everything else in that particular beverage is just there for the flavoring and to dilute it to a drinkable level. Try one swallow of Everclear and you will understand that last line.

Combinations don't matter, just total alcoholic content.
