Mixing alcohol?!

Question: ive heard the saying "liquor before beer youre in the clear, beer before liquor never been sicker!" But what about wine? what should you do if you plan on drinking wine and beer? or wine and liquor? does it constitute as liquor or beer? or is there a certain order you should drink the three or should you just avoid drinking like an idiot?

always start with the alcoholic drink that has the highest percentage of alcohol, then go down the line. So in this case it would go liquor, wine, and beer. I took traffic school, and this was one of the points they made in th DUI section.

Well, I can drink beer and hard liquor w/out getting sick, regardless of the order. I don't know about wine, but when I drink like hot damn or schnapps I get sicker than a dog.

The best rule of thumb is not to mix the types of alcohol as they metabolize differently and leave different byproducts.

I think it depends on the person. Try to avoid mixing in general, and you should probably avoid alcohol in general!

yeah, of course, drinking in excess is bad, and I do not know if you are of legal age to drink, but if you drink a glass of water with each drink of alcohol, you shouldn't get sick. alcohol dehydrates you. Unless of course if you are diabetic, you shouldn't drink, because then the alcohol can actually make you have a low blood sugar.

wat

Why would you want to mix those drinks its sick.. Wine should be enkoyed by itself.

most combinations give you a nasty headache unless you fit a good meal in between them. different carbonations or something, strengths of liquor.

I am one of thosse pple who uses myself as a guinea-pig and so i have basically tried mixing practically anything. Two weeks ago i mixed wine and liquor and trust me the effect was getting high in 20minutes and then puking in 30minutes.I thought maybe something was wrong woth me at that particular time and tried again this weekend but the effect was the same.
The only advantage is that when you throw up its like you start a new slate and you can drink a particular drink for the rest of the night of course remembering that your vulnerable to getting high.

eh all of it is an old wives tale. i always drink beer before the hard stuff. It depends on how much I drink to if i get sick or not.. not what i drank or in what order.

i love all forms of alcohol and on many occasions i have mixed various liquors wines and beers. 20% of the time ill have a hangover (nothing serious) ill usually throw up and feel fine the next day. 80% of the time ill feel fine after a long sleep and some panadol.
