What are they serving in school lunch lately? DMT?

As much as some of the language you're speaking of makes me cringe...I would imagine they get their syntax the same place the oldsters picked up crazy vernacular like whippersnappers.
I know what you mean! It's really irritating to try to decipher what people are saying on message boards these days when they use all kinds of abbreviations.
"i no wut u meen cuz its hard 4 n.e. 1 whos over 30 2 undrstnd wut sum1 iz sayin wen dey type lyk dis."
Very annoying, isn't it?
Probably texting and IM'ing. I've heard that colleges are even having problems with students turning in papers written in "cyber-speak". It drives me nuts too.
Welcome to the internet age.
I just finished high school last year, and I can tell you that most teenagers use textmessaging and chatting as a main communication portal, even more than speaking. They use these shorthand forms of spelling to type messages faster, and that's where the abnormal "syntax" comes from.
