Why are people so snobby about White Zinfandel and Rose wines?
I don't understand why people turn thier noses up to white zin and rose? I swear Napa valley residents would kick me out if I asked for a glass there.

Don't take it personal, they're really not snobby, their faces just look that way from the permanent pucker from the crap that they call "Vintage". So no sour grapes here, ask them if you can have yours in a paper cup, VIVA! ROSE!!
Those wines are for people who don't KNOW or even LIKE wines.....they're ordering that stuff because they are sheeple.
What is nice about it being your choice, if they don't like it and don't make it, they are missing out on about 75 percent of the wine consumers in north America but then if you go to France you will get insulted along with being thrown out of their wineries for asking for some thing you think you would like,

Because that's what they are...wine snobs. Actually, if they'd read Wine Spectator, they'd know that roses are kind of coming back, and there are some good white zins out there besides Beringer cheap stuff. And they're rated well.
I live in Napa Valley, the general going rule is "drink what you like" and nobody will turn up their nose.
Don't get offended, but I one of those people who would skip it if those were my only choices. Red wines like Shiraz, Pinot Nior and Merlot are soo much better.
I'm sorry to hear that there are people like that. I like wine from time to time, but I generally prefer beer.

White Zin and Rose is actually not even a kind of grape is the real reason wine lover despise it. A Zinfandel is a kind of grape and when used to make wine, it produces a very deep red wine with a nice smokey flavor. It's a real wine drinkers wine. Those new to wine would probably find it a little too harsh. White Zin, in some cases, can be so full of sugar it almost tastes like fruit punch. It is definitely made while thinking of those who would otherwise not be wine drinkers.
I am from Napa. I would never look down on you for liking white zin. However, I personlly think it tastes like Kool Aid to. Not a darn thing is good to eat with at it at all.
Rose is an entirely different animal and should not even be used in the same sentence as White Zin. The only similarity is that rose and white zin are both blush/pink wines made from red wine grapes that have sat in contact with the red grape skins for a period of time.
A good rose is typically very dry and not sweet at all. It pairs wonderfully well with all sorts of food. And a true wine connoisseur would not make fun of your look down you for having a Rose.
White Zin to me is nothing more than a wine cooler.
