Can Meta/Campden kill the yeast you add to make the wine?!

Question: Every bit of info says add meta/campden; wait 24 hrs then add yeast. It can only be correct if meta/campden is unable to kill the yeast you add later. Otherwise there is possibility to kill the new yeat too. anyone ??

Campden breaks down quickly thus waiting the 24 hours will effectively neutralize or greatly minimize the effectiveness of the campden tab.

Campden tablets do kill yeast. You add them to your must to kill off any wild yeast and/or other bacteria. You have to wait 24 hours to pitch your wine yeast so the SO2 has time to be released from the must.
Campden can also be used to stop fermentation if you want it to, due to the same reasons.
