Answers: :)~ On a dare my "friend" ate it and was VERY ill LOL

No, but it's fake tequila...

More specifically, Tequila is only produced in the Jalisco region of Mexico, primarily from the Blue Agave plant.
Tequila does not have a worm in it.

Mezcal is what you had. It's not fake tequila, necessarily, rather a similar liquor produced in other regions of Mexico, often using adjuncts in addition to agave.

It's like the relationship between Cognac and Brandy. Cognac is only produced in a certain region, everything else is Brandy.

Mezcal contains a worm (it's actually a harmless grub) as a marketing ploy. It's a rumor and a myth that the "worm" contains hallucinogenic mescaline. The reality is that the "worm" soaks up a ton of alcohol, in addition to being kind of gross in the first place...
That's why it messed up your friend.

Cheers!

Yes. And it soaks up a lot of alcohol, which is probably why your friend was ill...he/she had probably had to drink a lot of tequila to get to the worm in the first place.

yes, and its nasty!! lol

yep!!

True tequilla DOESNT have a worm that is Mezcal

Nope, it's a grub. Worm is just a bad translation from Spanish.

yea... sick huh?

hahaha nasty!!

yeah lol
