When i drink i drink to excess. how can i cut back?!

Question:

When i drink i drink to excess. how can i cut back?

i go out drinking once a week at the weekend but every time i will drink until i can drink no more. its fun and i enjoy it but the hangovers are starting to get really bad. also i tend to be a bit of an **** when im drunk and this weekend i did something regretable so i think i need to stop it.

how can i still go out but not always drink to excess?

Answers:
Basically you need to either stop or pace yourself....doing something "regrettable" probably helped you realize this.

-Alternate one drink with one water. This will help slow you down and re-hydrate.

-Stick with the lower alcohol drinks such as beer. Beer is actually a pretty poor alcohol delivery system. It has a relatively low alcohol percentage. The amount of fluid you have to take in and the carbonation help to slow you down.

-Don't leave home on your drinking nights with your credit cards or too much money since running a monthly tab happens more often on TV than in real life.

Definitely try to find something that works, and DON'T DRIVE. You don't want to have a regrettable action cause a death (either your own or someone else's).

Alternate with water (also helps prevent hangovers).

Spend more time talking, dancing etc.

Eat (but not manky bar snacks that are already open and covered in germs).

All you have to do is go to an Alcoholics ward in any hospital and you are bound to see someone that will make you totally sick. I know my husband liked his drink very much leading to severe alcoholism. All the young men who saw him in the ward thought he was eighty when, in fact, he was only 56. All the younger men on finding this out said they will never drink
