What is the difference between these two?!

Question:

What is the difference between these two?

Besides the fact that champaigne comes from the Champaigne region of France, what is the difference between champaigne and wine?

Answers:
Champagne is a sparkling wine whereby the bubbles or fizz are produced by natural means during a second fermentation. The first fermentation takes place before bottling to turn the grape juice into wine, the second fermentation occurs in the bottle and is induced by adding yeast and sugar to the wine.

Champagne is carbonated (i.e. bubbly); whereas, wine is not.

Champagne has fizz.
And not all Champagne comes from that region of France.

Champange has bubles and is carbonated
Wine doesn't

just drink it and find out

wine is more commonly consumed and in my opinion tastes better, but Id rather have a can and/or bottle of Bud myself... heck 12 or 14 suit me just fine =p

The only wines allowed to be called Champagne are those made in that region of France. The rest are called sparkling wines. This is by law if I correctly remember.

Champagne is wine except that it is lighter and more carbonated and better tasting, in my opinion.

one is bubbly... champagne!

Champaign is wine....sparkling wine that is. White wine is made from the chardonnay or pinot noir grape and fermented. Yeast is introduced converting sugars into carbon dioxide and alcohol. After disgourging (the bottles are turned 1/4 turn and tilted every day in a riddling board until they are inverted) more sugar is added making it sec(sweet) demi-sec, brut(dry)etc. The sediment is blown out by freezing the neck in a nitrogen brine solution. This method is the "methode champenois" introduced by Madaam Veuve Cliquot.
Franciscan monks are attributed with "discovering" the wine Champaign. Questions?
