Liquor before beer and you're in the clear, beer before liquor and you'll be all the sicker...true? Or false?!
Answers: Just wondering if this saying is actually true or if it's just horseshit. Thanks!
Absolutely false for all the reasons listed...
It all relates to drinking patterns, because you drink shots faster than beers.
Another stupid myth about alcohol perpetuated by people with no facts to back them up, other than "Oh, that's what I do, so it must be right."
Not true...
...You'll be fine either way if you pace yourself and drink water.
false. I haven't had a problem yet.
In a way that is true, but drinking excessive amounts of any alcohol beer and liquor (doesnt matter in which order) will get you very sick.
yes, it's true from what i've heard.
I think it just depends on your palate. I'm one of those people who can't even switch from Vodka to another liquor without getting a little nauseated at some point in the evening.
I think it depends on the individual... personally... it does not apply to me at all. Total horseshit. ;-) Cheers!
just depends on who you are
and how much you can handle i think
False. I usually start on beer then go to mxers. As do most people I know. The fact that hard liquor messes you up quicker is the basis for tis saying.
Neither is true. Overconsumption and a short tollerance will make you sick. The best advice I can give you is to stick with what your drinking and switch to icewater when you think you have had enough. I can drink shots of Jager, Tequila and drink beer all night.....you dont want to be like that.
I don't know about the actual facts but i do know i had 3 cans of beer followed by half a bottle of wine followed by some irish cream and vodka shots...i was sick as hell so i think it makes me sick. I just stick to the strong stuff instead of beer now!
Well, it is can be true just because of the basic logic behind it. If you are drinking beer and get a little drunk then switch to liquor.... you will tend to drink the liquor a lot faster and heavier. It is a lot stronger then the beer - time to where the toilet seat like a neck tie...
If you think of it the other way around... If you were to start with liquor you won't be a little drunk and will drink it at a "normal" speed. Then, if you switch to beer from there... unless you are slamming the beer... it is hard to get sick. It's not strong enough.
So, it's not so much the mix of which is first... it's just drinking patterns. That's my thought and it makes too much sense not to be true, doesn't it?
Once you become an alcoholic, the question becomes moot. It's all good at that point and it really just comes down to volume. Try drinking several of each on successive nights and you'll find the answer...
It's pretty much true for all alcohols. Whenever I mix like beer and liquor or wine and liquor I get sick sometimes.
My husband ended up doing beer before liquor at my birthday party. He drank 4 beers at our home and then when we got to the bar he had 12 double Jack and Cokes. He ended crapping himself in bathroom at the bar. It was pretty bad , we haven't been back to that bar since.
false! I ALWAYS drink beer first. It depends on how much i drink to if I'm sick or not.. it doesn't matter what or in what order. Except for this one time i took this shot with Bourbon in it..omg that was insta-puke but only because it was so nasty!
12 double jack and cokes.. pretty sure anyone with that much alcohol in them would have some kind of problem!
Here is the actual quotation: Wine before beer and you're in the clear. Beer before wine and you'll be all the sicker.
This quotation originated in Germany in the late 1800s.
