Why does James Bond have his Martinis shaked and not stirred? Is there a difference?!
Answers: Just like the guy above me said, it was to have him stand out and have a cool line in the movie. But in acuality a martini is best taken stired with gin not vodka. When you shake a martini you are letting all the aroma and flavor out, by gently stiring the flavors can be kept in the drink thus making it a better quality drink.
a shake mixes it up and a stir keeps it seperate 2 the middle ?
shaking bruises the vodka.....and I have no idea what THAT means....I don't drink
This has been answered before. The writers did it just to make him stand out as being different, because shaking chips and breaks up the ice, thereby diluting the martini, where stirring doesn't do this. It was to make James Bond look like a different sort of gentleman.
Bubble's
Shaking mixes air into the drink (called "bruising"). I understand that the taste changes, slightly.
one is pretentious the other isn't
Leaving the ice in the vodka waters it down
Watch the new Bond film with Daniel Craig as James Bond. It is supposed to be based on the first book Ian Flemming wrote about Bond called "Casino Royale". It is the first time he orders his trademark cocktail while playing high stakes poker.....you'll see.
It was basically to make him look more classly when we bartenders know it is bad to shake it, shaken should only be done with thicklike drink. As a martini drinker it does change the taste...
It's all bullsh!t darling!
I have read that the original reason he drank them shaken was because it would of been less easy for somebody to spike his Martini with drugs.
yes when it is shaken it mixes the drink like a cocktail quicker then stirring it.
because hes 007
