Are American brand beers popular in other countries?!

Question:

Are American brand beers popular in other countries?

I'm American and I don't really like most of them myself. Oh, don't get me wrong, I'll drink 'em, but would prefer something stronger! lol

Just was wondering if people in other countries enjoy our beers? Are they even sold overseas?

Answers:
I think the general consensus is that the major American beers are considered inferior. Although I quite like them. I'm not sure why they get such a bad rap. I guess it's just due to the lower alcohol content, but that situation is easily remedied by drinking more of it. From my experience, most international beers and ales are sweeter than American pilsner beers, which tend to be bitter.

you can buy budwieser just about everywhere, my experience is in germany, and seemed that the only people drinking american beer were americans, not locals, other locations may differ...

Coors Light does well in Canada.
I dont like it but many do.

Hello I'm am ex military spent much time over seas and in general the answer is yes . they are just like us they want to try something different but they will generally go back to what they are use to

When I was in Ireland, I noticed a lot of the people drinking Budweiser. Both men and women in the clubs were drinking them. It's very different than in the states where you would see most people drinking Bud Light.
I didn't see a lot of Miller products being sold there.
When I was in Lithuania and Romania I saw predominantly liquor being served. Lithuania had less American beer available, but they did have wonderful local brews.
Hope that helps.

We have very few American beers in Canada. Our Budweiser and Coors lite are brewed here by Labatts and Molsons. They taste very different than the American versions. Miller Genuine Draft is imported and has it's fans but only a third the popularity of Corona. Other American beers are novelties, people buy them once for a trial but never twice. Like Mickey's.
