How do I get the cork out of my champagne bottle?!
Answers: I mean, I know HOW. But it's stuck. Any tips?
Arm in a sling? That's the problem!
I'll assume you have to do this yourself, so this might work. Get a bucket of ice, and chill the neck. Try to pry the cork enough so that the pressure inside will "unstick" the cork. If that doesn't work, then chill it some more. Make sure it's cold. Grab the heaviest knife you have (a chef's knife). With your arm that's in the sling, you're gonna need to hold the champagne bottle by the punt in the bottom, and angle the neck up about 30-45 degrees. With the blunt end of the blade, you want to use your working arm to glide knife up the neck. You'll want to practice in air a few times, first. You'll hit the neck, right under the cork where there is that bump of glass. If you've done this right, when you slide the knife (fairly quickly, but not fast) up the neck, you'll hit the bump and it will break. You'll free the champagne from it's bottle, and the glass won't shatter or leave shards in the champagne. Some of the champagne will spill as it foams out of the bottle.
Hopefully you can pry it out without breaking the end of the bottle off.
you could shake it. (jk)
i htink there's this twisting thign u use. it's metal and liek a large nail and u keep on turning into the cord and wal la pull abd there u have it. u mite wanna buy one or u can drilll it with a nail then pull. be creative!
If it's seriously stuck you should push it down into the bottle.
empty the bottle or get a metal skewer you use to grill kabobs and try and stab it if you dont want to drink it all first
try to finish using the corkscrew the cork may fall inside
get a better corkscrew.
remove foil and cage. tilt bottle to the side a bit. gently grasp and twist cork and SLOWLY allow it and the gases to ease out. keep a glass nearby in case it fizzes out. if it doesn't come out because of the pressure, it might be flat.
I might be missing something here but are you using a corkscrew? I have never seen one so stuck it can't be pulled out. if you are a small person with not a lot of arm strength you might have a problem.
If you don't have the type of screw that pry it out against the bottle, that may help.
Sorry if I missed this. Good luck
with a cork screw
It IS possible to extract a champagne cork with a corkscrew. This is most comonly necessary, if the cork snaps off at the neck when you are trying to extract it. Then you can use a corkscrew, as normal. Providing you have a goood grip on the corkscrew, the cork won't go shooting off into space. If in doubt, wrap the whole bottle and corkscrew in a towel first.
If your arm is in a sling, that may be an answer - carefully cut the cork off at the neck, and then use a corkscrew.
