Probably peppermint schnapps. A popular bottling is Avalanche...it is very distinct, blue in color and there are crystals at the bottom of the bottle. It has a very sweet and minty taste, like mouthwash.
Otherwise, possibly creme de menthe.
Mojitos and mint julips are made with fresh mint leaves so the taste is much more subtle, less artificially sweet (and much better!)
