I personally prefer red wines as well, Merlots, And Zinfandels are my favorite....

Not a big fan of really dry red wines. Some less dry italian reds are outstanding.

Personally I like a sweet zinfadel. But there is a white wine out there called Verdi. I could drink myself silly off of that stuff - YUM
