How much orange juice comes from one orange?!


Question: I need to put the juice of one orange in a cocktail (sangria!). Obviously I'm way too lazy to actually juice an orange..... how much carton orange juice should I put in?!!!

Don't be lazy, get a large orange roll it under the pressure of your hand on a hard surface. When you cut the orange and squeeze it you will get twice the amount out of it than if you had left it alone.

But if you are going to be lazy a cupful should be fine.

about 1/2 cup

I would use anywhere from 1/3 to 1/2 cup of orange juice.

2 or3 tablespoonfuls

It depends how big your orange is. But on average about three to five tablespoons. It takes a lot of oranges to fill a glass with juice.

In the greek high streets i noticed they used a mechanical juicer!...and it used 4 oranges to make a medium sized glass (approx 1/2 pint)...
