What are the white deposits in the bottom of my glass from my icecubes.?!

Question:

What are the white deposits in the bottom of my glass from my icecubes.?

This is after the ice has melted.

Answers:
Mineral deposits from the water. White is usually calcium or lime. Lime stone is a good aquifer and it leaches into the water it is harmless.

uhmmm...gross

sediment and nasty stuff from your tap water. You need a water filter to filter out all that nasty crap.

I think your little brother might have played a nasty trick on you.

Uh-oh, what did someone do in your ice cube trays.........?

Sodium. Salt fragments from the ice. All water has sodium traces from osmosis.

when i was a kid .. . someone told me it was toilet paper left over from the water treatment. hmmmmm . . . i choose not to believe that

It is the sodium, etc from the water. These are naturally occurring and will even show up after reverse osmosis. They are harmless unless you are on a salt free diet, they you should probably consider distilled water.

The ice cubes were in the freezer too long and got freezer burned.

Aren't we an informed bunch? From Toilet paper, to sodium deposits, to nasty stuff. Hmmm.... let's see... probably toilet paper, right?

uhh....cyanide?
