Two types of shots:
Jigger = 1.5 oz (most common)
Pony = 1 oz. short pour houses use 'em, I don't drink there.

shots are all different, they can range from 1 oz-2oz

The word "shot" is not a measurement. Each bar can call whatever they want to be their "shot". On the other hand the measurement of about a shot is called a Jigger. A jigger has to sides a full jigger (1.5oz) or a half (.75oz). So the answer is they are both right.

Normal size shot glass is 1.5 oz

typical shot size is 1.5 ounces
the 1 ounce is commonly referred to as a pony shot
a double shot is 3 ounces

80 proof=1oz....more will kill u..lol

A double shot is three ounces...so I assume that one shot is 1.5 ounces.

who does shots?
dont you people know how to drink from the bottle.

the best way to figure that out for yourself is to get a bottle of liquor and put a bar pour spout on it!! then pour your self a 3 count shot the put it in a shot glass!!!! Most bars pour a 3 count! Good luck!
