When making a cosmo (cosmopolitan) does it matter what kind of vodka and cranberry juice I use?!

Question: Brand? etc...

unsweetwened 100%, sweetened...etc?

I use a medium quality vodka because the cheap stuff gives me nasty hangovers and I don't want to waste the high end stuff. So like Smirnoff (non flavored)...

I use Ocean Spray Cranberry juice because that is what I like. Use whatever you like best. I've used the Ocean Spray Cranberry Light before to cut down on the calories and it tasted the same to me.

As with any cocktail, as soon as you put a mixer (eg cranberry juice) into the spirit you ruin its original flavour. So I always say use the cheapest spirits in cocktails and save the best for serving neat or over ice.
Any straight vodka will do, flavoured vodka should be drunk neat for the same reasons as above.
You prob know you also need a dash of cointreau (or sim) & lime juice.

The vodka doesn't matter, the juice does. Ocean Spray 100% cranberry juice is the way to go.

it's up to my customers what vodka they want... to me, Smirnoff (which is well vodka in my bar) or maybe Skyy ? Absolut is a HEADACHE to me! Can't take it! Cranberry juice, I use from my "multiflo" or Oceanspray and squeeze the lime in it! My customers don't care!

It all matters, the flavor of the vodka, the quality, the alcohol content, everything. The Cranberry Juice is also very important. If you like sweet drinks then buy the sweetened cranberry. Real Cranberry Juice is unsweetened and not made with adding flavors (like ocean spray). I suggest a very good vodka for your home because your not paying for it per drink, like in a bar/club. And look for an unsweetened cranberry juice made with 100% juice. Maybe buy a lime or two for a simple garnish and a little flavor. You can go cheap if you like, but like to know I'm putting quality things in my body.
