Which wine to try first?!

Question:

Which wine to try first?

Aside from water and juices, I am mostly a soda pop drinker. I am a newbie, and I want to start drinking wine. Could someone tell me which wine I should try first? and so on... I want to start appreciating wine drinking. Thanks.

First, pelase do not thinkt hat there is a right way and a wrong way. it is your personal taste and your experience. persoanlly, I believe the best way to learn about wine is by doing a tasting with a paired menu. Restaurants often have these menus for you to try samples of food that is paired with a very specific wine. This will allow you to taste the wine with and without food. They also typically provide the wine from lighest bodied (like a pinot grigio) to full bodied (like a shiraz). You can also take a vineyard tour, where they will typically have a tasting available. If neither of those ideas do it for you, go to your local liquor store and ask the clerk to help you find a wine. They will probably ask what kind of tastes you enjoy (like fruits, or pepper) and will match you up with a wine that you will most likely enjoy. Be open to trying new wines, but don't feel like you have to drink what you don't enjoy!

Go on a wine-tasting vacation.

A Sweet Rose' or Blush' is always a good begining wine.

for a start, maybe u can try Semillion Chardonnay (white) or Shiraz (red)

any red wine w'd do but i suggest u better don't try it or else u w'd get alcohol poison which'll burn ur liver n throat.take care.

queen adelaide chardonnay or any chardonnay

Wine drinking is a specialized activity, searching. What wine is not important, although the whites and roses are lighter in flavour, generally, than the reds.
What you must understand before you start is that most wines are 12 - 14% alcohol, and in the beginning, one small glass will make your head spin. Take it slowly, try a white (the Sem. Chardonnay recommended above is ideal), and don't drink too much at one sitting. ALWAYS have something to eat with your wine - cheese and crackers, olives, pieces of red capsicum, things like that - finger food.
Wine drinking is not like beer drinking. Beer drinkers do not often eat, except for nuts or the like with their beer. It's not so important, as beer is only about 3.5 - 5% alcohol, and more can be consumed before you start to feel odd.
Neither beers nor wines are actually sweet, although there are 'sweet' varieties. These are relatively sweet, but nothing like soda pop.
Be careful, choose your company well, be incredibly sophisticated about it, and you'll survive, and maybe even enjoy the experience!

Try a nice white wine spritzer which is white wine with soda water or lemonade in. This way you can ease yourself in with less mixer every time. Rose wine is quite nice and sweet which may also suit as you are a soda drinker. Let us know what you try and if you like it eh?

You can try white or red wine.

I d go with a fruity red, such as a Cabernet Sauvigon from California or Australia. Choose wines from the "New World" - USA, Australia, New Zealand....

Also try a Zinfandel from Caliornia or a Shiraz from Australia. If you go white, go with a Chardonnay from California or a Semillion from Australia.

Those wines are fruit forward, dark red and higher in alcohol than the usual European Wines.

the first you you see
and go from there

go for a white zinfandel, i prefer beringer, and i hate wine

try a riesling. it's semi sweet.
