others do it because they think they will

do it because they are addicted to it
mankind has looked for a "buzz" since the earliest person was here. that is why there are so many drugs and alcohols, and why Jesus turned water into wine.
If you’re referring to alcoholic beverages, some people drink socially to loosen up and relax. Some people are alcoholics and are addicted to alcohol.

You mean alcohol? Common reasons....
1) social activity (alcohol tends to make people more talkative)
2) enjoyment of taste in certain drinks
3) to get drunk (sometimes used as a way to "avoid" life's daily troubles)

Wow what a question....many many different reasons. Some for courage, others for need. If I want a drink I drink to relax.
Some , like college students, drink for all the wrong reasons...to look cool and to be included. They think its FUN....being a drunk idiot isn't cool or fun, its stupid!!
