What would you do if the British government banned alcohol?!

Question:

What would you do if the British government banned alcohol?

Answers:
it would never happen, they have far too mush to loose in inflated tax and duty....

anyway, we'd all just go on booze cruises to the Continent!!

Booze in secret.

xxR

Emigrate.

wouldnt care i dont drink

start selling it illegally and gown filthy rich!!

I'd cope. I don't drink much anyway. Maybe I would just have it on holidays abroad.

Have a non-alcoholic party!

Would be the first time I could have a convo with my mates in that environment without them being pi$$ed. WOuld be wonderful!
I don't drink, so wouldn't be a problem for me

brew my own booze using old fruit and marmite

wouldnt go to britain

well by the sound of things they need to ban it judging by the 3 answers before me.
it would not bother me that much, i had a drink on Christmas day then did not have another drink till my birthday on 22,March so it was like 3 months with out a drink and it was no problem,

I would stop paying my taxes!

ship it from canada.... can anyone say PROHIBITION???

Not my problem....

Wonder how much income tax would increase to replace the lost duty and VAT.

If it did happen, which it won't it would have disastorous effects for the British Economy.

With the amount of tax they put on booze they would have a huge hole to fill and all of our taxes, even those that don't drink much, would be heavily increased in different ways.

A black booze market would be created and criminals would be making a lot of profit and the booze would be unregulated and possibly contaminated.

The funds that these criminals gain from this new illegal booze trade would provide them with more funds for other activities like drugs and prostitution.

Alternatively people would make their own booze and become criminals because of something they have been doing all of their lives. People who enjoy the occasional tipple would be deprived of this because of the minority troublemakers.

What would I do? Emmigrate.

Build a still.. :)

They won't - it makes too much money from them. If they banned it, drinking booze would be the last thing on your mind. You would have to worry about loosing free health, increasing income taxes etc.

i woudn't mind, i could easily live without it xxx

Be alot happier.

Alcohol is the 5th most damaging drug in the UK - alot more damaging than Ecstacy and LSD according to new scientific health evidence reports.

Also I've seen alcohol abuse and its not pretty... most alcholics I've seen get drunk to relax and then want to play the victim/feel sorry for themselves and deliberately start the nastiest arguments. I've seen parents who are wasted with alcohol take all their faults/anxieties/insecurities out on their kids (who don't always know their parents are drunk on the alcohol drug). That said.. i wouldn't ban any drug... you wanna drink paintstripper, snort cocaine, or shoot heroin in to your own veins - be my guest fools.

They never would. Just like they wouldn't band the sales of cigarettes. They want the duty money.

swim to france

CeLaBrate!

I would be expecting a lot of Brits to move to the US.

Overthrow the government - direct action would be the only way to solve this ridiculous decision!

i will make my own

Emigrate. Pre-emptive - I left the UK in 1971 - no regrets yet!

grow potatoes and build a still as all good Irishmen know

Cry. A lot. Luckily that will never happen though

Take more drugs :-)

Erm I realise thats a pretty silly comment but that what happens with a sense of humour.

i think it would be great - it would make drinking more fun knowing that u shouldn't be doing it - brings me back to my teenage years
