Everyone's pretty much correct about the seasonality of the beer, as well as looking for local wholesalers.
The only problem is that it is usually sold out, or almost sold out by this time.
I used to work for the largest Sam Adams wholesaler in Michigan, and I know for a fact they have been sold out for several weeks now.
Check Premium Distributors of Virginia. I believe they are the wholesaler in your area for the brand...

Call Sam Adams and get a list of their distributors and ask where you can find it in your area...or just ask your local liquor store to order it for you...if they won't, find another liquor store because they suck or order it online. This might help you

One can not help but appreciate Samuel Adams? Double Bock's huge malt character. We use an enormous amount of malt, half a pound per bottle, to brew this intensely rich lager. Its deep brown-ruby color is all made in the kettle - no black malt is used, resulting in a rich sweetness that is free of the rough taste of burnt malt. All that remains is the velvet smooth flavor and mouthfeel of the two row malt. Samuel Adams? Double Bock's intense malt character is balanced with a subtle piney, citrus hop note from the German Noble hops.
Due to legal restrictions, Samuel Adams? Double Bock can not be sold in the states of Alabama, Arizona, Georgia, Iowa, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, Ohio, South Carolina, Tennessee, and West Virginia.

Also...I can get double bock in my liquor store now...so I wouldn't go by what the other answerer said, although they are right in that it is a seasonal beer, your store may get promo bottles...

It is only just becoming available now. It is a seasonal that is released in mid to late January through March. I've provided a link to a beer store guide below. Use it to make some calls or go for a drive and see what you can find.

Good luck... the Imperial Pilsner was great by the way... If you see some pick it up.

EDIT:

No, he means the Double Bock....

I don't see anything about a Double Bock on the Sam Adams website. Do you perhaps mean the Triple Bock, the rather soy-saucelike brew in the slim blue bottles? That's in their "Extreme Beers" section of the website. I haven't seen it in several years, but admittedly I haven't looked diligently for it. I've tried a couple of them, but really didn't like it much. I even tried letting one sit in my fridge for a couple of years once (the label suggested that, being a new thing, they didn't know yet whether aging a bit might alter the flavour), but I still didn't like the taste--like I said, it looked and tasted a lot like soy sauce!

The liquor stores in your area should be able to tell you something; they'll know what's available from their distributors wherever you are.

The Double Bock is a seasonal that is available in spring. Their other spring seasonal is the White Ale. Check your local stores for their Sam Adams selection. If they have the white ale, they can probably get their hand on the double bock. Just ask the store manager to special order it for you, that's how I get mine.

There are much better doppelbocks (double bocks) out there. Try Ayinger Celebrator if you want a true delicious German doppelbock.
