Nope. When you are drunk, the smell comes out of your pores. If someone is sleeping next to you, they will smell it in your sweat. The next day, after a night of sleep and a shower, chances are that you will still have the odor on you.
Besides the odor, you will start slurring long before you have any other effect from the alcohol (if you aren't drinking shots quickly) because your tongue is a big muscle. Muscle coordination is one of the first things to go.
If you don't want to smell like you have been drinking, you best not drink. That also includes vodka- one of the alcohols people are most likely to tell you does not produce as much of an odor on you.
