The best tequila is Casa Noble, here in CA you can get the silver for 30 to 35, Casa Noble reposado is a bit more expensive and the Anejo goes up to 90.

Jose Cuervo Reserva de la Familia (Reserve) less than $100 for a litre, Its clean and strong. It isn't Patron but its not bad.
There are allot. What is too expensive? The best Tequila out is Reserva De La Familia from Jose Cuervo. You sip it from a Brandy snifter. It's about $70 at Costco. "Blue" Cabo Wabo is also very good at about half the price. Don't get the "White" or "Brown" Cabo they're not as good. And stay away from friggin Patron, it's CRAP. The only good one is the silver and I only use it for Margarita's ONLY!!!!

Jose Cuervo is NOT a good Tequila!!!! If you want something good and something that can also get you Drunk fast I say go with PATRON SILVER. It's the best!! Make sure you chill it well and buy a shaker to serve it even colder!! It's awesome well chilled!! Have fun......Oh and if your worried about the $30-50 bucks (depending on where you buy it) it's well worth it:)
don't waste your money on expensive tequilas like patron,cabo wabo i found a tequila called destingido and its very good its about 34 dollars but its worth it there's 3 kind regular,blanco, anejo try it and you will see
Jose Cuervo...cheaper than that Pepe Lopez.
I recently tried Milagro - 100% agave and smooth - I preferred it over the Don Julio, Patron gold that I had. I think I paid $18.00 at the duty free. Look for a tall blue bottle. In Canada its impossible to find good tequila - looking forwad to my trip South soon...
I agree - Jose Cuervo is crap - Only suitable for Margaritas and mixing. I even tried the expensive Jose - still crap.
If its not 100% Agave - you ain't drinkin real tequila. Straight up and Straight down
