In what order do you place the Lime, Ice, Gin and Tonic into your glass.....?!

Question: and is it recommended to let the Gin soak
in the Lime wedges for a few minutes
under the Ice PRIOR to pouring-in the Tonic?

I fill a highball glass with ice, add 2 oz London Dry Gin (Seagram's Extra Dry is good), then top with Schweppes Tonic Water... I prefer a lemon wedge as garnish and I do not let it soak in the gin prior... a gin and tonic should not be complicated... in fact, you can easily forgo any garnish... just gin and tonic over ice. Another thing I might suggest... if you really want to be kind to your gin, do not add TOO much tonic, but try equal measures of each over ice.

Let me know if you need any more advice on drinking, or if you'd like to join me for a blast... I'm available anytime for a friendly drink and an ear-bending...

Cheers!

Add ice to the glass, then the gin, then the tonic, then the lime I never soaked the lime wedges .

Ice, gin, tonic and then lime. So you can squeeze the lime juice in the drink.

Ice
Gin
Tonic
Lime

Actually, mix the ice, gin, tonic into a martini shaker with ice, shake or stir, then strain into a glass filled with ice and garnish with a slice of lime; the order doesn't matter. The pre cooling in the shaker does two things; it dilutes the drink with a bit of water to improve taste, and it precools the drink so that the ice in your glass lasts longer.

usually in that order, but sometimes i add the ice first. But i am just mixing them in my kitchen...

Love me a gin & tonic!!!

the first thing i will tell you... is to not chill it like prior advised. chilling something is only good for martinis(where there is little mix) or shots (you drink them fast so they don't loose potency)

Best way:
Stuff your glass FULL of ice
Pour gin
splash tonic on top
garnish with lime

*now... i'm a vodka tonic person myself which is essentially the same... but the lime makes the drink so... if you enjoy the lime after you splash in the tonic add a splash of rose's lime juice. (this also works if the bar you are at has rotten limes they are trying to serve you)

Ice, Gin, Tonic then lime sqeeze is how the drink is built.

DON"T shake tonic, or any carbonated beverage for that matter, as it will make it flat.

Sounds good to me----Cheers!!!!
