How do you make the cocktail that looks like a slushy/icy?!

Question: was wondering if anyone knows how to make the cocktail that is usually churning in a machine behind the bar that looks like a slushy? i THINK they are called daquiri's but not sure on that. also does anyone know any different flavours besides the strawberry? id like to make this at home. any help is appreciated.
Cheers

YEAH... Let's get ready for the summer time roof deck parties!!!

Depending on the alcohol added, they can be called a variety of names:
Chi Chi (Vodka)
Margarita (Tequila)
Daiquiri (Rum)
Colada (Coconut & Rum)

You can make them any flavor your heart desires:
*insert fruit(s) here* then *insert drink name here*
Blueberry Daiquiri
Strawberry Kiwi Chi Chi
Banana Colada
Mango Margarita

I personally LOVE Strawberry Colada's.

They best way I found to make frozen drinks that perfect "slushy" consistency (without investing in a slushy machine) is to use crushed ice, well portioned liquids to ice & well sharpened blender blades. If you don't have an ice crusher, you can get by, by filling ice cube trays with scalding hot water & freezing. When you crack the trays, the ice will come out in pieces which makes for perfect blending.

One place I worked had a Frozen Cosmopolitan. It was a traditional Cosmo blended with Cranberry Purée. Quite Fun.

You can also do stuff like Frozen Mudslides or a Frozen Brandy Alexander.

It is more or less a margarita or like ya said a daquiri! Get a blender, crushed ice, fresh frozen strawberries, add bananas, or whatever kind of fruit you like, and sweet and sour mix (a non -alcholic mix), and tequila for a margarita, or rum for a daquiri......blend for a few..........enjoy!

Typically at home, you would use a blender to create frozen drinks. You can add you own ingredients such as fruit, cream, juices, etc, or buy the pre-made mixes from a grocery store.

Frozen drink machines are available at stores which would make the consistency of these drinks more like the ones you see at bars.
