This time of the year is not so good for the bar scene in that neck of the woods. If you want a little more action, you may have to go to VA. Beach. Mother Fletchers or Ziggy's were always fun when I was growing up there. There is also a great bar scene in the Pembroke area, it is actually considered downtown VA Beach.

I hope those areas are close to DC, because that's where you should go. There are a zillion bars there. Most are nice.
