Louis XIII is presented in a hand-blown crystal decanter, individually numbered, requiring the successive skills of eleven exceptional craftsmen. Richly decorated with fleurs-de-lis, the crystal carafe reveals and enhances the precious elixir that it contains. This elixir called Louis XIII is an exceptional blend of some 1,200 eaux-de-vie, the youngest of which is 40 years old and oldest over 100 years of age. The matured eaux-de-vie span the careers of three generations of cellar masters. The result is a magical combination of savoir faire, art and patience….a true act of genius.

Ensure the ballon glass is slightly above room tempreture. and add the perfect amount of the cognac. The perfect amount is found by laying the glass on its side and the cognac should be poured up to the rim of the glass. then stand the glass back up. a good Sommelier should be able to do this with out placeing the glass on its side.

Very carefully, I would hope,he's been dead for quite awhile.

Serve it only to those whom you like very, very much. It costs somewhere between $1200 and $1500. You are not just paying for a fancy bottle. Years of effort have gone into making this Cognac. Don't waste your money by mixing it with anything. Just pour it into the balloon snifter, sip slowly and sniff often. You will experience many layers of complexity. Call me when you open the bottle.
