I can't smell alcohol on someone who's been drinking. Why?!

Question:

I can't smell alcohol on someone who's been drinking. Why?

You always hear people always say, "He reeked of alcohol!" but I can never smell what they're talking about. I don't drink a lot, but I do drink and have gotten drunk, so it's not like I'm just unfamiliar with it. Can anyone think of why I can't smell alcohol on someone? I can smell it in the bottle, but I can't tell if someone has consumed it by the way they smell.

Answers:
once you get a whiff youll know. It depends on the alcohol, i guess. Beer has a distinct smell and so does wine and whiskey.

When you have been around a drunk long enough you can smell them then you know they are drunk.

If you smoke ciggerettes your sense of smell might be hindered. Also your sense of smell can be hindered by sinus or nasal infections as well.

When I had a "rough" night, you can smell the liquer through ;my pores!!! But maybe only alcoholics can smell booze :)

maybe your nose is clogged up....or the person hasn't drank that much to be noticed.

maybe because YOU'RE hammered?!?!

your nose is broken

maybe they are drinking vodka

Sometimes people are drinking so much that they are actualy sweating the alcohol out of their pores. It is a bad smell and be glad you are not smelling it!

quit putting pwder up ur nose.
