Sherbert, anyone know a supplier in the UK?!

Question:

Sherbert, anyone know a supplier in the UK?

I am looking to purchase tubs of coloured sherbert (the texture of dry sand rather than powder or crystals). Does this stuff exist in the UK or will I have to go to the US for a supplier?

Answers:
Try http://www.sweetsncandy.co.uk they have tubes of rainbow dust

Well, as far as I know Sherbet in the US is actually what I would call sorbet ;)

There are a loads of places online that sell them.

I can't find one that specifically sells in tubs, but you can get bags of the stuff here -> http://www.treasureislandsweets.co.uk/ac...

Try e-Bay. I buy sweets that I can't find in the shops from a seller called The Sweet Shop on the Corner (I think that is what it is called anyway).

That's interesting. As a child here in the UK in the years after WW2, I had both. Sherbert was powder. The stuff that had the texture of dry sand was called lemonade powder. Both were mixtures of sugar & citric acid I think.

Haven't seen either for years. so that's probably not a lot of help!
