If I am serving Sherry, which is anywhere from 17-20% aalcohol, how much of it would equal one standard drink?!

Question: My guess is 2-3 onces.

I have several Sherries, all are between 17 and 20 percent alcohol by volume.

How much Sherry would make one standard drink?

(one standard drink, as I understand it, is one once of 40% alcohol spirits, such as vodka, gin, or scotch)

Thanks

Well if you go with 1 ounce at 40% that would equal 2 at 20% or 2.35 at 17%

60%

I am a former chef and the normal serving from a bartender in a bar/restaurant is 3 oz so it would be a double shot, in a sherry glass, or a small tumbler, no ice and at room temparture.

I prefer cream sherrys, but have had a number dry Spanish ones like Tio Pepe, and the Manzinella types to, they are more dry and crisper, also these some times are chilled like white wine.
