Does hard liqour make you urinate as much as wine and beer?!

Question:

Does hard liqour make you urinate as much as wine and beer?

I read that beer and wine make you urinate more than hard liquor.. well this morning I had three shots and I had to go to the bathroom 3 times in an hour and a half.. so I do not believe this anymore.

Answers:
All alcohol makes you urinate, it is a diuretic, like caffeine.
But beer and wine make you urinate more because they have much larger amounts of water in each "drink".
Actually a 12 ounce can of 5% beer has 150% of the alcohol content of a 1 ounce 80 proof shot of liquor. (0.6 ounces compared to 0.4 ounces) but the extra 10.2 ounces of water dilutes the effect to make them roughly equal.
The diuretic (and intoxicating) effect of the liquor is felt quicker though since it is consumed faster and is less diluted. "Liquor is quicker."

no

wow, 3 shots in the am. Maybe you just thought it was an hour and a half. lol

Beer and wine make you urinate more because you are drinking a lot of liquid. If you drink three beers, you will have to go at least as much as if you drink three glasses of water. The diuretic effect might be stronger in hard liquor though.

it all a matter of how much fluid you drink, not what kind
