How does the water come out hot/cold in the water jugs that you see in offices?!

Question: There is an auxilary tank (approx one gallon) behind the faucets on the machine. This tank has a heating element (Much like your electric stove top heating element), and a thermostat (which controls temperature).

This tank automatically fills everytime the water level gets low, and keeps the contained water hot indefinately.

Cold water just goes through a refrigeration system, much like your refrigerator (Which I know less about)
