Your Favorite Wine?!

Question: I'm 21 but grew up drinking wine in moderation (with dinner). I love good wine. I was wondering if any of you had some suggestions. What's your favorite wine in the world? Also, champagne can be applicable as well. Thanks. :-)

I certainly enjoy a good Cabernet or a Burgundy. For a little sweeter taste, a Merlot blended with cherry or blackberry is very nice, as well.

Sometimes a table wine, red or white, is a nice wine to sip on.... just for the sake of sipping wine. It's sweet, but not too terribly sweet like Niagara or Concord would be.

For some, drinking wine is a fine art. They go through complicated processes just to taste the wine.

Not me. Just pour it, and let me drink it at my own pace. The thing that helped me develop my taste in wine, was going to wineries and sampling what they have. Maybe you could go to a winery or two and try theirs. You'll be able to compare them and make a definitive decision as to which is the one you favor.

Have fun with it. Wine is, after all, meant to be enjoyed.

The Brand is called Little Black Dress.... I love there Chardonney! (SP?) It's cheap and delicious.

There were some awesome Cabernets and Shirazes that came out in California back in 2004. I'd recommend trying to find some.

my favorite wine is the red wine.

Is the best.

bye bye

Pinot Noir or Shiraz I have found I prefer the ones from France and Australia. You should try and find a wine tasting event and go to see the many variations of wine they have. It is a great way to sample many different kinds.

the wine that comes in a bottle! RAFFLES!

Pressumably you are in the US and I am not sure about your wines, though have had some great Californian Cab Savs and Shiraz's in the past. Anyhow, if you get the chance keep an eye out for:-

Red - Shiraz or Cabernet Sauvignon from the Claire Valley or Limestone Coast of Australia (e.g Taylors, Penfolds, Wynns Coonawarra Estate)

White - Sauvignon Blanc or Semillion Sauvignon Blanc from Marlborough New Zealand or Margaret River Australia (e.g Nobilo, Montana, Evans and Taite)

These are probably around the $15 - $20 (USD) a bottle equivalent prices over here, so I am not sure what your budget is on bottled wine. But if you have an international section in your liquor shop, keep an eye out for them.

Jordan Cabernet is my absolute favorite - they also make a good chardonnay but I also really like Silver Oak Cabernet.

Brown brothers

Wild horse, Firestone wine, All merlots

I like Yellowtail Shiraz from Australia, and just about any kind of cabernet sauvignon.

You really can't go wrong with Italian wines. If you prefer white, Pinot Grigio is delicious. Try to make sure it's from the Northern region of Italy - it's better. (Veneto, Venezia often on the bottle, or other northern places you may recognize) Orvieto is good and cheaper.
Chianti Classico Reserva is extremely smooth and delicious - - or you can just go ahead and buy Chianti. Ruffino is usually a good brand. Valpolicella and Montepulciano are good. You can usually buy most brands as long as they are Italian and NOT the American versions.
Pinot e Toi by Maculan is typically around $17 a bottle but it is absolutely delicious, clean, and gets most red wine lovers to like white. That's probably my absolute favorite certain wine even though I typically prefer reds.

Key rule "A good wine is a wine you like, a great wine is a wine you like that is cheap!" If you live out west CA, OR look for some local wines they tend to be the best. VA has some decent wineries as well. MI and NY do to but they focus on sweet white Rieslings.

For particular brands Kendall Jackson makes some great whites and reds, look for specifically Nappa on the label vs California. The grapes are more localized and better. Ravenswood ZInfandel (not the white trash) is really good and you can find it everywhere.

There is a generic Merlot call Bohemia, you can find it at Trader Joes, very very inexpensive and incredible. None of the green unripened grapes you get with 2 Buck Chuck.

Pink Zinfandel.

blackberry merlot. I like it sweet. : )

California merlot an cabernet sauvignon the red wines and a chardonnay for a white wine.
